CEP Goals

We have very high expectations for our students, and thus, high expectations for ourselves when it comes to pushing our students forward. Below is a description of the school's Comprehensive Education Plan for the 2016-2017 school year.

Goal 1: Rigorous Instruction

By June 2017, the Coordinator of Instruction, Coordinator of Curriculum Support, Unit Coordinators, Data Specialist, English as a New Language (ENL) Liaison, and the Administrators will support core and supplemental classroom instruction, by departmentalizing a math blocks, so that teachers can focus on mathematics with homogenous groupings as measured by a 3% increase in students scoring a Performance Level 2 on the New York State Mathematics Exams and 3% increase in the Student Annual Needs Determination Inventory (SANDI) Math Proficiency scores.

Goal 2: Supportive Environment

By June 2017, the Principal, Functional Behavior Assessment/Individualized Educational Plan (FBA/BIP) Coordinator, PBIS Team, and Data Specialist will monitor and adjust the P186X PBIS System to ensure a positive, safe, and supported school environment is maintained for students as measured by a 5% increase in the total number of students who maintain a level 4 for a minimum of three consecutive months.

Goal 3: Collaborative Teachers

By June 2017, the Coordinators of Instruction and Curriculum Support will modify the P186X school-wide pacing calendar to reflect the school's instructional focus for the 2016-2017 school year and create a year-long Professional Learning calendar to work with teachers to develop and implement unit plans around the instructional focus in order to increase cohesive instruction for student achievement gaps to be addressed as measured by a 3% increase in Performance Task scores for Mathematics and a 3% increase in Student Annual Needs Determination Inventory (SANDI) scores for Mathematics.

Goal 4: Effective School Leadership

By June 2017, the P186x administration will actively participate in instructional planning as measured by an additional 5% of respondents will agree/strongly agree that the Principal and/or School Leaders participate in instructional planning with teams of teachers under the "Effective School Leadership" category from the Staff Learning category from the Staff Learning Environment Survey.

Goal 5: Strong Family and Community Ties

By June 2017, the English as a New Language (ENL) teachers, ENL Liaison , Administrators, and Parent Coordinator will plan and implement activities to have a stronger focus on families of English Languages Learners (ELLs) in order to increase family involvement as measured by a 7% increase in ELL parent/guardian attendance during parent/guardian engagement activities and school/districtwide events.
